First thread in the FPJ Forum

I’ve posted in this forum very little, but I have spent a lot of time reading all of you and admiring your beautiful pieces. Today, I’m delighted to share with you an incoming I received two days ago of my first mechanical Journe timepiece. I recognize it isn’t the most popular of choices from the catalog, but I find it just so cool and effortless to wear here in my early days of ownership: the Chronograph Rattrapante in titanium with slate grey dial.

Despite its imposing diameter, the watch wears much more easily than one might think. The lightness of the titanium and aluminum components leave you feeling like it’s second skin. The thinness of only 12.1mm for a Rattrapante is the most shocking to me, but this is due to the fact that it was built as a Rattrapante from the inception and not a chronograph with a split module added to it. It easily fits under a cuff, and the action of the mechanism feels crisp and sturdy when activated.

Besides a very distinct and appealing (to me) cool factor that the darkened titanium offers, it also makes the piece a bit more discrete and visually smaller than it would be otherwise.

I also love the sapphire windows on the dial that tease a small view of the mechanical wonder that is the movement. The flourishes of red are the icing on the cake for me from a purely aesthetic perspective.

As someone who owns, appreciates, and utilizes a good number of chronographs, this is my first split, which means this piece marks a new milestone in my collecting journey. As you can tell, I’m quite enamored by this piece already. I look forward to many memories made with it going forward and to sharing some of those with you here.

Thank you for looking and reading. I wish you all a great day, evening, and weekend ahead!

I’ve had this piece for a while now and love it. It’s my personal favorite from the Linesport series and titanium was the choice for me due to its lightness in weight as well as the darker color of the case and bracelet which allows it to wear smaller tha...

Thank you Timeout.

I can agree with everything you say about this watch. It does seem to have been one of the more underrated watches in the current catalogue; overshadowed because it’s a LineSport, and even within the LineSport overshadowed by its heavy metal brothers I th...

What a perfect way to express it Jay.

It’s a ton of watch in a quiet (it almost feels impossible, but can I say) discrete expression. Many thanks, my friend.

Congratulations!
